Dr. Cagle grew up on Leachville, Arkansas. Leachville is a small town of around 2000 residents in the NE corner of Arkansas. He graduated high school as class valedictorian. From there he graduated premed from Arkansas State University. He then went on to the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences where he earned his medical degree. He completed his 3 year Family Practice Residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in FT Worth. After completion of his residency he returned to Paragould, Arkansas and was in private practice for 40 years as well as Emergency room physician.
On a personal note: his wife, family and horses are his passion. He and his wife have 6 adult daughters and 10 grandchildren. He is a cutting horse enthusiast. He breeds, raises and shows his horses.
